Yep.. that time again to upgrade my blog to the latest version, WordPress v2.6. Once again, I had to edit the /wp-includes/vars.php to force $is_apache to true because the server software reports back as WebServerX. Following is the server detection part of the script:

Other than that, the upgrade went smooth!

The movies I had lent to my parents have been returned so I can now add them to my DVD/Home Theater page. They are:
In addition to the front DVD cover, I have also included a trailer. I will admit that some of the trailers with these last eight additions are not as good as some of the previous ones; however, the process took much less time and effort as I just downloaded existing flash trailers I found on the IMDb site versus making my own from better quality source material. I might see if I can find a better source to use as these seem to be 25fps and if memory serves the Pathfinder one has an audio problem in the middle of it. Anyway, while I was at it, I also updated some of the content on my DVD/Home Theater page.

As I had mentioned previously, I've purchased some new DVDs and here's four of them that I've added to my DVD/Home Theater page:
I have some additional movies left that I need to add; however, those are currently being borrowed by my folks; thus, I don't have the DVD covers I can scan in at the moment. All of these movies have a trailer available for viewing as well. Cloverfield and National Treasure I bought new. Delta Farce and Flags of Our Fathers I bought as part of a 4 for $20 deal of previously viewed movies at Block Buster.

My photo gallery has been upgraded to Gallery2, version 2.2.5 which includes a number of security patches and fixes. The upgrade went smooth and without a hitch!
- Monday, June 9, 2008 7:27 PM: Samsung LN52A650 52" Widescreen 1080p LCD HDTV added to Home Theater
Well, after many years of wanting to get a widescreen TV, I finally bought myself one! It is a Samsung 52" 1080p LCD HDTV, model LN52A650. I've had it about a month and love it! As it turns out, according to the AVS Forum, it is one of the better models to get. Needless to say I've been watching a lot of movies on it lately. I am actually behind on adding movies that I've bought to my website. I'll get around to adding those later.
I currently have my Denon DVD-2200 DVD player and Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8240HDC DVR cable box connected to my Denon AVR-3806 A/V receiver, via component cables which are then connected to the TV via component cables. On the right is an image from my DVD player I took while watch Star Wars Episode III.I have learned much concerning HDTV since purchasing this and following the AVS Forums and will most likely write another article concerning what I have learned about all this HDTV business.
General Information
- Background: I was born on June 6, 1969 in Wichita Falls, TX, but grew-up in Edmond, OK, including going to Edmond High School there.
Current Occupation: Oh, finding a new current occupation.
Before my present job, I was: a bank teller, Interned/Co-oped with IBM down in Southlake, TX at their Performance Evaluation Center programming Remote Terminal Emulators, and then worked for the State of Oklahoma in the Department of Vital Statistics (birth/death certificate stuff) for awhile, then spent 13 years working for Creative Labs, Inc starting out as a Technical Support Agent and ending up as a PC Technician/Help Desk Support in the IT Department.

Graduated May '92 with a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Information Sciences from Oklahoma State University.
Hobbies: Computing and all that stuff, Music, Movies, Snow Skiing (it's been awhile since I've been :/ ), Chatting on the internet (generally while working on our website or programming), and goofing off.
Radio Station I mostly listen to is the Classic Rock station KRXO 107.7 FM, followed by: KJ-103 and Rock 100.5 the KATT., all out of Oklahoma City, OK. I also listen to a fair amount of Internet Radio. The two I listen to the most are Club 977, the 80's Channel and Ravetrax (Breakbeat Trance House). I listen to and watch their live video streams using Winamp. Ravetrax rocks, I suggest you check 'em out! I also subscribe to XM Satellite Radio and my favorite stations there are: BPM (Dance, 81), The System (Dance, 82), The 80s (Decades, 8), Top Tracks (Rock, 46), Bluegrass Junction (Country, 14), Cinemagic (Pop & Hits, 27), Squizz - XL (Rock, 48), and XM Classics (Classical, 110)
I have one sister, Jill, who got her PhD in Physical Chemistry, researching the atmospheric chemistry of alkylperoxy radicals (believe I got that right.. has to do with lasers, studying molecular behavior of various gases, CO2 and Ozone among others).. at the University of Colorado She's now a Research Associate at the University of Kansas.
Website was created with HomeSite v4.5 After Macromedia purchased HomeSite I stopped upgrading. It seems to do the things I want.. so why upgrade? Also, some aspects of version 4.5 that I use on occasion were removed from later versions.
